It's only fair that I write about Ruby now...although she isn't quite as quirky and needy as Max.
Daryl and I had always had in our heads that we would like 2 dogs. Now that Max had settled down a bit, we figured he would love the company of another dog. We decided to visit Lollypop Farm-a Humane Society-to check out the dog selection. We were only planning to look into the process, but then we saw our Ruby! There were several dogs there that day, but Ruby just looked at us and we knew she was the one! She was about 6 months old. She was a stray and was pretty thin. She too was a lab/golden mix however, she looks quite different from Max.
We took her home that day and introduced her to Max...that went pretty well! Now they are good pals. Ruby has a very different personality. She is our explorer and is alot more adventurous and independent. She will chase cats, birds and ducks and wander off on her own to check things out. Ruby has lots of energy and loves to be outside even if it's freezing out. She is playful and spunky and tries to get Max to chase her around the yard. Ruby's favorite pastime is chasing her tail.
It's quite entertaining! But, like Max, she is very gentle and loves to sit with you and snuggle.
