The Gauck's: Weeks 32, 33 & 34

These past few weeks have been busy and filled with alot of fun activities! Daddy has gotten back into fishing and has been showing Noah different kinds fish. We've been making trips to Gander Mountain and even Bass Pro.

This year we joined a CSA in addition to the wonderful garden Daryl has going in our backyard. Thanks to that, I've tried (and liked) eggplant, red peppers, green beans, kale and cauliflower. I still can't get into beets, chard or peas. Maybe next year! We spent a Saturday canning jalapenos and pickles from our garden. Each year our garden gets bigger. It's great not having to go to Wegmans as often!

We went to the NYS Fair. Noah really enjoyed looking at all the animals. He also had his first experience playing "I Got It." We also took a trip to the zoo with some friends. Noah's favorite animal was the giraffe. We also hit up Lollypop Farm, the Chicken Wing Festival and various parks.

Noah met his great-grandma for the first time and had a visit with Aunt Gwen and Uncle Gregg from Florida.

New foods include cottage cheese, peas, puffs, tofu and chicken. Sometimes I feel like we are raising the next Joey Chestnut (competitive food eater guy)! He eats very well most days. He definitely has his favorites (yogurt, mango, peaches, apples, bananas, sweet potatoes) but he'll eat almost anything. He'll complain about it, but still open his mouth for more! We are up to 3 meals per day and have been giving him chunks of certain foods. He used a pincer grasp a couple of times to pick up his puffs. He fed himself the puffs a few times last week, but this week he could care less. He has figured out that if he hangs his hand over the highchair tray, Max will lick it or eat whatever is in his hand. He does well taking sips from a straw sippy cup.

Noah is very squirmy and doesn't stay in your lap/arms for long. He can go from sitting to his belly and is trying hard to pull up to stand (he still needs a little help). He will stand at the couch or a toy by himself. Today he let go...and fell....and smiled. We have a daredevil in the making! If I put him on his hands and knees, he rocks like crazy! He rolls around the floor to get to things.

Max and Ruby have become even more exciting to Noah lately. He laughs at them when they wrestle, pulls on their fur, grabs Max's tongue...he thinks they are great. He is going to love running around with them.

He is doing well sleeping through the night and napping (we even get some long naps in some days!).
