Ironman Syracuse

Last summer, Daryl participated in his first sprint triathlon. He really enjoyed it and planned on keeping up his training. But, winter came and he lost motivation. It's just not as easy to train indoors when it's cold and dark out as it is when you can be running, biking and swimming outside in the sunshine. Around January, Daryl was feeling out of shape and needed something to boost his motivation. He always works best when he has a goal to reach. So, he signed up for a half ironman! This is a huge jump from the spring tri he did last summer, but he really wanted to challenge himself and become healthier overall. The training is difficult and time consuming, but I am so proud of him-he has stuck with it-running, biking and swimming further than he ever has in his life. I already see a change in him physically and mentally. So in 74 days, 16 hours, 48 minutes and 29 seconds (September 19) Daryl will be swimming 1.2 miles, biking 56 miles and running 13.1 miles. You can read about the tri here: ironmansyracuse.com

Stay tuned for more updates!
